DetailsWith it's elegant pure Japanese design, WASARA truly offers the best in biodegradable disposable tableware. Because style and caring for the earth should go hand in hand, we bring to you the WASARA line of products. Made entirely from tree-free renewable materials (think sugar cane fibers, bamboo and reed pulps which means they can stand up to heat), the line is also compostable yet sturdy and is reflective of minimalist Japanese design. This is a green fashionista entertainer’s dream finally come true. Unlike other biodegradable tableware made from bagasse (sugar cane fiber), WASARA does not become pliable or "sweat" when hot (not boiling) liquids are added. This is thanks to the combination of materials from which WASARA is made (bagasse, bamboo, and reed pulp), and the fact that it includes a trace of a water- and oil-resistant agent.

- Uselessly Small, but cute plates
Somehow I missed the 3 inch square dimension listed for this "appetizer" plate. You could fit one sushi on it, that's all, so why would you need a plate? When my order arrived, I couldn't believe those tiny packages WERE plates, so I opened one to see if I'd gotten a wrong order of soap bars or something. The company willingly let me return the unopened ones, but I have the opened pack. Too bad, because they are really beautiful and stylish but due to size, not so functional unless you know to order way up in sizes.
Price Value Quality
The best use is as a cocktail napkin for passed appetizers. Very cute, but small.

- too small for anything
I returned these without using them. They look neat, but would hold one cube of cheese. They are not big enough to be useful for anything.
